Welcome to Troop 122 Overland Park, Kansas. Scouts and Parents, you will find a wealth of information on our website, please feel free to look around. You will find the Troop 122 Guide by clicking on Scouts | Scout Documents and then Scout Guidebook.

New parents before you can campout you must have Youth Protection Training so check out our Scouts | Training page. Have a health form completed, see Scouts | Scout Documents. Fill out a Transportation Information Form, see Camping | Important Campout Information. All training and forms must be completed before attending a campout!

Troop 122 is paper-less! Please visit the About Us | Mailing List page and subscribe to the appropriate list. If you have signed up for emails and you still aren't receiving them, please check your SPAM filters on your PC and your Internet Service Provider. Please add troop122opks.org as an approved sender. Since the emails are sent out as a broadcast, some filters consider them SPAM.

The majority of our documents are in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). You can download it from the Adobe web site, www.adobe.com.

Clinton Lake Campout

Well its that time again…only a little more than six weeks and Troop 122 will start our Fall 2008 monthly campout season. Of course the August Campout (Clinton Lake - August 22-24) is all about swimming, sandcastle building, bird watching, fishing and my favorite water skiing (Water Sports)…

After being designated/assigned the role of Captain Boater, I need your help! We are in need of about 7-8 boats and their Mighty Captains to assist us on Saturday August 23, 2008, 9:00am – 3:30pm. If you are one of the Mighty Captains, with a boat, who can help the troop in this way, please contact me, ASAP.

TO ALL SCOUTS: This is a great time to get your Water Sports Merit Badge (renamed from Waterskiing). Please read the merit badge manual. To view the requirements, click here. Be prepared to discuss the requirements 1-5 on Saturday August 23 and complete requirements 6 & 7. Remember to get a Merit Badge Card from Mrs. T., signed and filled out, prior to campout. Bring card to camp out for final sign off. Scouts who are serious about completing this merit badge (requirement 6 & 7) need to be on Mr. Duman's boat so please let him know in advance so it can be schedule appropriately.

In addition this year we are also offering the Motorboating Merit Badge. You will find that it is similar to the Water Sport Merit Badge except for requirement 4, 5 and 6. Requirement 4a is the biggest challenge. However if you are 12 or older you can take the Kansas Home Study Course (Free). To get the merit badge you will have to show Mr. Duman your License!
